Revit has 16 Line Weights that can be customized for our drafting needs. Revit also has 4 standard line types that cannot be deleted or renamed, which are Thin Lines, Lines, Medium Lines, and Wide Lines. These four lines generally provide enough range for most drafting needs. A general representation of these four lines is shown in the picture below. To keep the template simple and clean we will use these lines as our base, and they will correspond to the first 4 line weights. The remaining line weights increase at a semi-steady pattern. The remaining line weights can be useful in title blocks and other unique drafting situations. Line Weights can be edited in the
Manage panel under
Additional Settings tab. We can also customize the line weights for different view scales if needed.
